A Story of Dragons

A Story of Dragons

There be dragons here, some big some small
That come from far to conquer all.
They fight with claws and teeth and fire.
And gnash and thrash about the pyre.

Such stuff from tales a fairy made
Enchanting verse, a tune well played
It’s fabric woven from magic and war
Where good and evil battle evermore.

And in the moment near the story’s end
A hero emerges to fight and defend
With gold and treasure and life at stake.
His to keep or the dragons to take.

Red, green, and black they circle round
The moment void of time and sound.
A shield is raised, a sword is drawn,
And in a flash of fire, the hero is gone.

But who was on the side of the good and the just.
Perhaps the hero’s heart was of power and lust.
And the dragons were right and had claim to the gold.
Only the storyteller decides as the story is told.
