One Falling

One Falling

One falling slowly from the start
And picking up speed once gravity has its way
More to follow
Another and another behind it
They fall in the same path
Along the same line down and around
As hydrogen has a tendency to bond
That way and not go its own
With every note
And word
And thought
Ten more are gathering in the well
Waiting for the fall
Waiting to roll, and bond, and break away
To find their final resting place below
Until finally the well runs empty
And the thoughts dry up
And the moment evaporates to nothing.
